FIFA World Cup

Soccer fans around the world have been waiting four years for today - the kick off to the FIFA World Cup!

The World Cup of Soccer gets underway today in Berlin, Germany, with the host country facing off against Costa Rica. Music featured at this premium sporting event includes a remix of the Shakira and Wyclef Jean track "Hips Don't Lie" and performances by other artists including Il Divo and Toni Braxton.

Particle Tours

Los Angeles jam band, Particle, has announced plans to tour North America this summer with two new band members.

The self-described 'funktronic' band will be playing with U.K. group, Ozric Tentacles, for some dates in July as well as joining with other bands, such as Blues Traveler, for selected gigs. Particle will also appear at major music festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago and Summerfest in Milwaukee. The tour is in support of their new double disc CD and full-length live DVD, Transformations Live.

Dixie Chicks Return

It's been four years since their last album, but the Dixie Chicks have released new music and are hitting the road on a massive North American tour this summer.

The Chicks' latest album, Taking The Long Way, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and their subsequent Accidents & Accusations Tour is approaching fast with the first stop in Detroit, Michigan on July 21. Guest contributors on the album include John Mayer, with a stunning guitar solo, and Keb' Mo', who co-wrote the track "I Hope".

NBA Playoff Update

The NBA Finals are here and it's going to be a fight to the finish.

The Miami Heat rose to top of the Eastern Conference winning over the Detroit Pistons in game six. The Heat will be facing off against the Dallas Mavericks - both teams will be competing for the championship for the first time in franchise history. The Mavericks out shot the Phoenix Suns in game six to take the Western Conference title. Game one in the Finals will be on Thursday, June 8, in Dallas.
