Chevy Rock & Roll 400

The race for the NASCAR Nextel Cup continues this weekend in Virginia at the Richmond International Raceway.

Drivers will buckle up to compete for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 on Saturday, September 8, as the chase for the cup intensifies. The standings show Jimmie Johnson has slipped to second as Matt Kenseth moved into top spot. The action will continue in a few weeks at the Sylvania 300 in New Hampshire and at the beginning of October with the Banquet 400 race in Kansas.

How the Grinch Stole the Stage

The grumpiest role on Broadway for this holiday season has been cast with stage veteran Patrick Page set to play the title character in How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Page will take on the green costume this fall with previews beginning at the end of October in the Hilton Theatre. Page has a long list of credits including his current role as 'Scar' in Disney's The Lion King and over 1,000 performances as 'Lumiere' in Beauty and The Beast. He is also a classical actor and has appeared in plays such as Macbeth and Othello.

Farm Aid

This year's Farm Aid will feature a new crop of artists and genres in addition to the regular performers at the annual event.

Farm Aid founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp will be joined by bands with genres ranging from polka to reggae this year to help support American farmers. Mainstays, including Dave Matthews, will be on hand in addition to a slew of new bands to the show including Los Lonely Boys and Gov't Mule. The concert is scheduled for September 30 in Camden, New Jersey.

MLB Standings

As the end of the regular season approaches, competition in the MLB is becoming fierce with teams fighting to make the top rankings.

In the American League, the Detroit Tigers are sitting with the most points but are closely followed by the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics. In the National League, the New York Mets are in first place for points with the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals tied for second. The top teams in the league will face off in the World Series this October to see who will take home the title.
