Spamalot in Toronto

It was all laughs in Toronto as Monty Python's Spamalot opened on the weekend with soaring sales at the box office.

The travelling Broadway musical has been breaking records in every stop of its tour since beginning the trek in Boston this past May. The outstanding sales in Toronto's opening weekend have prompted comparisons to the city's two biggest musicals: Mamma Mia! and The Lion King. The show, which is based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will run in Toronto's Canon Theatre until September 10.
