The Apple Falls

A revival of the 1966 musical The Apple Tree will hit New York today and it has a Tony Award winning actress in the lead role.

The Apple Tree opens tonight in the Big Apple at Studio 54 with stage veteran Kristin Chenoweth taking the starring role in the play's three musical acts. Chenoweth has a lengthy resume having appeared in many mediums including the onstage production of Wicked, a television adaptation of Annie and the New York City Ballet's rendition of West Side Story. The Apple Tree began previews in late November.

Augustana Tour

Alternative rock band Augustana has announced a four-week long headlining tour for the early New Year.

The quintet will visit 20 cities throughout the tour and will be supported by London band Vega 4. The band's debut album, All the Stars and Boulevards, was re-released in September. Augustana has spent plenty of time on the road this year touring to support bands including The Fray and Snow Patrol. They also featured as the opening band on the massive Counting Crows and Goo Goo Dolls tour in the summer.

Super Bowl Countdown

The most critical games of the NFL season are quickly approaching and fans are counting down the weeks to Super Bowl.

The Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers have clinched their division titles with the Bears also earning a first round bye in the playoffs. The Seattle Seahawks are also looking for another place in the finals and are currently leading their division. Super Bowl XLI will take place on February 4 at Miami's Dolphin Stadium with legendary musician Prince performing at the halftime show.

Phantom's Next Christine

Cast changes have been announced for Phantom Of The Opera with a new actress stepping into the leading role of Christine.

Jennifer Hope Wills, currently the alternate actress for the role, will take over full duties as Christine in the Broadway production of the show beginning tomorrow night. Wills has appeared in many other productions including Beauty and The Beast, Wonderful Town and The Woman in White. Phantom Of The Opera is currently housed at New York's The Majestic Theatre and is Broadway's longest running show in history.
