Forrest vs. Quartey

New York's Madison Square Garden will see the biggest bout of two boxers' careers as former welterweight champions Vernon Forrest and Ike Quartey square off on August 5.

The pivotal match will see the winner fall in line for the title, while the loser may consider retirement. The outcome could be close with Quartey having three straight wins over Verno Phillips in recent years, but losing to Oscar de la Hoya in 1999. Forrest defeated Shane Mosley twice in 2002, but suffered a knockout loss to Ricardo Mayorga in 2003.
