Phantom Milestone

The Phantom of the Opera will hit yet another milestone today when the show celebrates its 8,000th performance.

Today's matinee showing at the Majestic Theatre in New York will be the landmark performance. The 8,000th show breaks yet another record for the hugely successful Andrew Lloyd Webber musical as it makes the Phantom of the Opera the first show on Broadway to hit such a high. The new record comes just one year after smashing another when it beat out CATS to become the longest running show on Broadway.
