Additional Drowsy Cast

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming West End production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

The London installment of the musical comedy will begin previews on May 14 at the Novello Theatre with the official opening set for June 6. The extended London cast will be lead by current stars Bob Martin and Elaine Paige. Paige, who plays the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone, has a long list of credits in English theatre including roles in Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and originating the role of Grizabella in CATS.

The Police

The Police are back together and have announced plans to tour in celebration of their 30th anniversary.

The trio who rose to worldwide fame in the early 1980s shared their reunion and intention to tour with fans at a Los Angeles club earlier this week. The tour will launch on May 28 in Vancouver and has 14 confirmed shows throughout the summer including a gig at the Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 16. More dates in North America and around the world are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Daytona 500

One of the most coveted racing events in the U.S. will take place this weekend with the Daytona 500 set for Sunday, February 18.

As the first race of the year for the NASCAR Nextel Cup, the Daytona 500 is highly anticipated by racing fans and drivers alike. The race will take place at the famous Daytona International Speedway in Florida. The next pit stops on the Nextel Cup circuit will be for the Auto Club 500 at California Speedway on February 25 followed by the UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 11.

Jersey Boys Award

Jersey Boys won a major award for Best Musical Show Album on the weekend edging out the competition.

The musical based on the life of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons took home the award ahead of some notable nominees in the category including The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Pajama Game and Sweeney Todd. Jersey Boys has been breaking records since opening at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre in November 2005. The show won four Tony Awards in 2006 including Best Musical.

Westward Williams

Lucinda Williams will hit the road next month following the release of her latest album entitled West.

Williams has a slew of concert dates booked for the month March to promote her new album, which is due for release tomorrow. The tour will see Williams visit 15 cities beginning in Tucson, Arizona and working her way across to Nashville, Tennessee. She will also play some festivals later in the year including the Coachella Valley Music Festival in April and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in May.
