NBA Playoffs


The Phoenix Suns are down 3-2 against the San Antonio Spurs, in what has turned into a rivalry reminiscent of the 80's. Whichever team comes out on top will have to face the well rested Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Finals.

The Detroit Pistons swept the Chicago Bulls, who were hoping to make history as the first team ever to rally back and win a playoff series when down by 3. The New Jersey Nets will try to stay alive on Friday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers, who currently lead 3-2.

Tennis


Only five players in the world are part of an elite group who own all four Grand Slam Titles. In 2006 Roger Federer reached top seed after triumphing at the US Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon. At the 2007 French Open in Paris commencing on May 27th, Federer will have his shot at cementing his name in tennis forever.

2006 Champion and first seeded, Justine Henin-Hardenne will be back to defend her title and with the woman's side minus Martina Hingis and third seeded, Evgenia Linetskaya, the championship is anyones to take.

Kelly Clarkson


Kelly Clarkson will kick off her 36-city tour, in support of her latest album, 'My December', with a performance at Live Earth on July 7th in New Jersey.

In 2002 she became the first American Idol and at this years Country Music Awards she performed a duet with her idol, Reba McEntire. Other notable performances that night were country music darlings, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Top honours for Male and Female Vocalist of the Year went to Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

MLS


Newcomers Toronto FC had their first ever victory on Saturday, defeating the Chicago Fire 3-1.


In August, the Los Angeles Galaxy will see the addition of superstar David Beckham, who recently signed a 5-year contract worth $250 million. On Sunday the Colorado Rapids reclaimed first place in the Western Conference with a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls. Colorado will also host the 2007 MLS All-Star game on July 19th, which will see the MLS All-Stars face off against Celtic FC.

Prince


Prince has announced that he will play 21 shows in London this summer, starting on August 8th at the O2 Arena.
Also performing at the O2 this summer is, Barbra Streisand, who recently announced two dates in July. Justin Timberlake will perform five shows with special guest Fergie and in August, The Rolling Stones are scheduled to perform three shows.

MLB


Major League Baseball is off to a record breaking start. Roger Clemens has come out of retirement for the second time, signing a one-year, $28-million US contract that will see him playing with the New York Yankees for the remainder of the 2007 season.

Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants hit his 745th home run on Tuesday night against the New York Mets placing himself within 10 of Hank Aaron's career home run record of 755. Cincinatti Reds right fielder, Ken Griffey Jr. reached a career high 569 home runs on Thursday night against the Houston Astros.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 will hit the club circuit later this month when they begin touring in support of their sophmore album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long.
The pop rock band will perform at various clubs across North America throughout the months of May and June. They will also perform at the annual Z100 Zootopia concert at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on May 18, along with acts such as Hilary Duff and Daughtry. The band will also serve as the opening act for The Police at Dolphin Stadium in Miami on July 10.
