LCD Soundsystem

American dance-punk band LCD Soundsystem is planning a spring tour in the wake of their latest album release.

The group will tour the UK before moving to mainland Europe and later to North America to promote the release of their second album, Sound of Silver. The North American leg will launch in New York City at the end of March and include a performance at the Coachella Music Festival in April. LCD Soundsystem's front man, James Murphy, has worked as producer for artists including Justin Timberlake and Nine Inch Nails.

Match Play

The first World Golf Championship tournament of the year, the Accenture Match Play Championship, got underway yesterday.

The WGC-Accenture Match Play will run until Sunday February 25 where fans are hoping for an intense final between the biggest names in the PGA, such as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. The next two WGC events are the CA Championship in March and the Bridgestone Invitational in August. The next stop on the regular PGA tour will be The Honda Classic at the beginning of March in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Spamalot Down Under

Spamalot is heading to Australia after conquering Broadway, the West End and a North American tour.

The 2005 Best Musical Tony Award winning show will begin its Australian venture later in the year at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne. The production will be headed by Mike Nichols whose work includes directing the film adaptation of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Casey Nicholaw, who has worked on productions such as The Drowsy Chaperone, will choreograph the Australian installment of Spamalot.

Tool Tour

After recently completing their Australia and Japan tour, Tool has extended their upcoming North American itinerary to the end of April.

The alternative metal band will launch the North American leg of their tour in Las Vegas on March 15 at the Palms Casino Resort. Tool has been touring almost constantly since debuting their most recent album, 10,000, which was released early last year. Along with The Police, Tool has also been confirmed as a headlining band at this year's Bonnaroo Music Festival to be held in mid-June in Tennessee.

Houston Rodeo

Festivities begin next week for the 75th annual Houston Rodeo and there will be plenty of entertainment in and out of the arena.

The Houston Rodeo will run from February 27 - March 18 at Reliant Park and feature competition between for the best bull riding, barrel racing and all rodeo events. The massive livestock show and rodeo also has a string of concerts on the schedule. Some of the biggest artists in country music will perform including Alan Jackson, George Strait, Gretchen Wilson, Rascal Flatts and Martina McBride among many others.
