Joint Venture

Gomez and Ben Kweller will be joining musical forces next month when they embark on a co-headlining tour.

The pair will launch their month long tour in Seattle on February 15 and trek across North America to wrap up in Northhampton, Massachusetts on March 11. Both acts released albums late last year, Gomez's fifth album How We Operate and Kweller's third self-titled album, and will be supplementing the tour with occasional solo shows. Before the tour, Gomez will play arena venues in support of O.A.R. during January.

Australian Open

The Australian Open will begin next week in Melbourne with the biggest names in tennis set to attend.

The first Grand Slam tournament of the year will begin on January 15 with the world's top players ready to compete, including all of the top 20 men and 18 of the top 20 women. Roger Federer has been seeded at No. 1 and Maria Sharapova at No. 2 in what will serve as a major draw for the tournament. The next Grand Slam event will be the French Open in May followed by Wimbledon in June and the US Open in August.

Grease is the Word

The upcoming revival of Grease is breaking records already by selling more than $1million worth of tickets in just two days.

The musical favourite won't hit the Broadway stage until July 24, but fans are eager to reserve their seat for the show. Grease will be directed and choreographed by the Tony Award-winning Kathleen Marshall, whose work includes The Pajama Game and Wonderful Town. Grease has received such early popularity due to a reality television show that is searching for actors to fill the lead roles on stage.

Paisley Tour

Country music star Brad Paisley will tour early this year in support of his latest album Time Well Wasted.

The Bonfires & Amplifiers Tour has over 37 dates scheduled with more stops expected to be announced in the near future. The tour will launch on April 26 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sharing opening duties for Paisley will be Jack Ingram, Taylor Swift, and American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler. Paisley's 2006 Time Well Wasted Tour was one of the biggest draws of the year ranking fourth in attendance for all country tours.

Texas Rodeo

Rodeo fans will be soon be heading to Texas as the state begins a series of bull and bronco riding events this weekend.

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo will be the first in line with the first day of the event set for January 13. The Fort Worth show will run until February 4. Next on the schedule is the Houston Rodeo which kicks off on February 27 and ends on March 18. The Professional Rodeo in Austin, Texas will run in March and feature supporting performances including Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Bill Engvall.
