Del Mar

The second thoroughbred racing season of the year is well underway with California's Del Mar track nearly halfway through its annual run.

This year's Del Mar Thoroughbred Racing began on July 19 and will continue until September 6. The action on the track is matched by world-class entertainment off-track with concerts staged every Friday night. Upcoming performances include Alice in Chains, Billy Idol and Jimmy Eat World. Del Mar racing takes place the same time as the Saratoga Horse Racing season in New York, which will wrap up on September 4.
