Travers Stakes

Horse racing enthusiasts are preparing for one of the most prestigious events in the country as the summer racing season comes to a close.

The Travers Stakes will be held this Saturday, August 26 just outside of Saratoga Springs, New York. The event is the oldest thoroughbred horse race in the United States and the highlight of the annual Saratoga Horse Racing. The Saratoga Racing season lasts for six weeks and will be finishing on Labor Day weekend this year. Horse racing will continue in New York in early October with the Belmont Stakes.
